Should the present instalment meet with a reception that would warrant a succeeding volume, societies other than the Affiliated Orders may be dealt with; but the latter have such a distinctive character of their own, and stand so apart by themselves in constitution and government, that it has been thought the better plan to reserve Centralised, Deposit, and Local Benefit Societies, &c. for separate treatment.
